Thomas L. Raukamp

"Ordinary things in life is where heaven likes to be", someone said. It's those ordinary things in life that Thomas L. Raukamp likes to explore. "I like to make everyday life stand still for a moment and reflect upon it", Raukamp says, "so that its gems may come to shine, often overlooked in the rush of the days."

Taking his music to the stage, as often as he has the chance, and performing it with cutting edge technology like the Tenori-on and the AudioCubes, Thomas L. Raukamp has gained the recognition of well-known names, like the German "pope of electronic music" Christopher von Deylen (Schiller) and Britain's synth-icon Howard Jones.

Alex Young of "Milieu" writes about him: "Clearly influenced by earlier ambient artists such as Jarre or Eno, harmony is key to Thomas' music, yet he maintains a level of uniqueness of his own eccentric style."

Ologie Project: 13.12.10

On 13 December (and from 20 November on Bandcamp), we'll be releasing Thomas L. Raukamp's wonderful Ologie Project. You can grab a copy of LRH from the release, free of charge, using the link on the right, or purchase the album from Bandcamp which includes a FREE HD video for the track Août from Enter Calico (below).

So what's behind the term Ologie? "It's more or less a statement about the systematic, almost scientific approach to music I express here. I consider myself a deeply spiritual person but in a very scientific way. To me, spirituality and music are actually closely related sciences. Both are based on firm principles and both hold unlimited creative potential."

The results came quickly. "Creating tracks for Ologie Project was like a fever but they were developed over a couple of years. Listening today, I sometimes ask myself how I wrote them and where the sounds came from. It almost feels like these songs have been composed by someone else - a higher energy or mind - crazy as this may sound!
