David McSherry

David is one half of Fila Brazillia, the electronica collaboration from Kingston upon Hull, England. Since their 1990 inception, Fila Brazillia has released 10 artist albums on both the Pork Recordings and Twentythree labels, DJ mix albums for the Another Late Night and Another Fine Mess series, a retrospective album in 2006 and over 90 remixes for artists such as Black Uhuru, Busta Rhymes, UNKLE, A Certain Ratio, DJ Food, Simple Minds, Tosca, Fluke, Cal Tjader, Lamb, Moloko, Radiohead and The Orb.

Collaborations include writing and production projects with Harold Budd, Bill Nelson, Stephen Mallinder, Djinji Brown and Greg Dulli. Their music has made its mark on US small-screen blockbusters (such as CSI and Sex and the City), many European TV programmes (such as Chris Morris’s Jam), TV advertisements (Nokia N97) and cult cinema films such as Le Conseguenze Dell’Amore, Dogtown and Z-Boys, Riding Giants and Once in a Lifetime.

David is now pursuing an academic career and lectures in Audio Production at the University of Lincoln. He is also studying for a Masters degree at Leeds College of Music where he is specialising in electronic music production and music composition for film.
